Cold-pressed and unrefined
NOW® Flax Oil is made from organic flaxseeds and maintains the natural nutrient profile found in genuine whole foods. The oil is non-GMO, cold-pressed, and unrefined. Flaxseed oil is a source of omega-3 fatty acids, primarily alpha-linolenic acid. Our oil is tested to contain between 55-65% of this fatty acid.
Made from organic flaxseeds
The organically grown flaxseeds are first processed by being cleaned of weeds and stems. Then the oil is extracted through cold pressing/crushing. Filtration is the next step, and after filtration, a small amount of antioxidants is added to the oil to preserve its quality and prevent rancidity. The processing method ensures a high-quality oil with a characteristic nutty taste and aroma, as well as a clear, medium-yellow color.
Usage and Storage
Take 1 tablespoon 1-2 times daily, preferably with meals. Flaxseed oil can be used in salad dressings, sauces, peanut butter, yogurt, and protein drinks. It can also be used instead of butter on rice, potatoes, or bread. To preserve freshness, the bottle should be tightly sealed and refrigerated. For maximum freshness, the oil should be consumed within 6-8 weeks after opening.
